Rex Welcomes Parade Route Cleanup Volunteers

"Project Green," part of the Rex Organization's "Operation Pro Bono Publico," will rally Rex members and their families, members of other parading organizations, and volunteers from throughout the community to clean up after this year's Carnival parades. "Even with a modified Mardi Gras celebration, parade routes will likely be left with significant amounts of trash and debris," says Tim Reily, Project Green’s leader, "and we are going to see that St. Charles Avenue is left in beautiful shape."

Rex has partnered with the Katrina Krewe and with other parading organizations to assure that the entire parade route is cleaned. The cleanup will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 4th, and volunteers may join the effort by reporting to coordinators stationed along St. Charles Avenue at the intersections with Napoleon Ave., Louisiana Ave., and Jackson Ave..
